Process Overview

This article will walk you through the necessary steps to successfully activate Leafly’s Order integration with TechPOS. You will complete the following high level steps (in order) → 

 

Please note that once you enable the TechPOS order integration, your Leafly order dashboard will become read-only. While the order integration is active, order fulfillment will take place within TechPOS.

Leafly Setup

1. Order Settings

Follow these steps to enable the TechPOS Order integration in Leafly.

  • Open your web browser and sign into Leafly Bizhttps://business.leafly.com/Admin
  • From the left-side panel click on 'Settings'
  • Click on 'Integrations' from the drop-down

On this page, click connect to order integrator to activate your ordering integration.

A pop-up modal will appear asking you to confirm the connection. Copy your API key then click connect:

After clicking connect, you will see that the ordering integration is now activated:

 

If you need to disable the ordering integration:

  • Click the three vertical dots
  • Select Deactivate

2. Order Notifications

Follow these steps to enable email notification alerts for Leafly Orders through the TechPOS Order integration: Enabling Email Notifications for Leafly Pickup

 

 

TechPOS Order Integration Setup

1. Request Setup 

TechPOS will share your location ID with Leafly, complete setup steps within TechPOS, and confirm when the integration is enabled. Leafly will configure your TechPOS location ID and confirm that the integration is finalized.

 

We have a 2 business day SLA for integration setup.

 

Please note: Orders will not flow from Leafly to TechPOS without Leafly configuring your TechPOS location ID.

1. Ordering Flow

Once a shopper places an order on Leafly, the order will flow through to TechPOS and appear in your Leafly Order tab. You'll be able to tell when you receive a Leafly order as a red badge with a count of orders will appear on this button:

Once on the Leafly Order view within TechPOS, you will click Start to Prepare to begin packing the order.

You will scan or select lot for the items included in the order.

 

Once you are done editing the cart, click Finish Online Order. This will send a notification to the shopper alerting them that their order is ready.

TechPOS Ordering FAQs

Do I need to enable my POS menu sync from TechPOS before enabling the Order integration?

  • Yes, at this time, you must have the Menu integration enabled and actively syncing before enabling the Order integration.

  • You can find instructions to enable the Menu integration sync in this Help Desk guide: TechPOS Menu Integration Guide

Do I need to be a Pickup partner + Leafly customer in order to activate the TechPOS Order settings?

  • Yes, at this time, you must have both Leafly Pickup or Delivery and a current subscription to our advertising services activated in order to use the TechPOS Order Integration settings.

Does the TechPOS <> Leafly order integration support Uber Eats orders?

  • No. At this time, the order integration beta will only support orders sourced from Leafly.
  • Support for the add-on Uber Eats integration is in active development.

Do customers still receive notifications when order status changes?

  • Yes. Customers will receive notifications via email and SMS. Additionally, if they have enabled in-app messaging, they will receive push notifications with order status updates.

Once Order Integration is enabled, will the Leafly Order Dashboard be disabled?

  • Yes. Once the Order Integration is enabled the Leafly Order Dashboard will be read-only. The dashboard will update appropriately but will not be actionable.

  • All order actions must be performed within your TechPOS fulfillment dashboard. 

How does customer profile matching work within TechPOS?

  • You are able to add a member to an order or switch between member profiles attached to the order via the member search button within TechPOS.

Will customer government ID images transfer to TechPOS for delivery orders?

  • No, government IDs will not be automatically downloaded for Leafly orders.

  • You will still be able to access government ID images via the Leafly Order Dashboard.
  • There is a spot within the member profile where ID numbers can be entered.

Does TechPOS support a “hold queue”?

  • Yes. You can see items that are on hold in the warehouse within TechPOS.

What are the potential pitfalls to managing orders solely in TechPOS POS?

  • Currently, Retailers will not be able to substitute menu items for customers or be able to distinguish first time customers until the customer is in-store.

Will my Leafly Deal pricing sync to my POS via the order integration?

  • No. At this time, you will need to replicate the deal in your POS and apply it to any applicable items in Leafly-sourced orders once you begin filling them in your POS system.

How can I cancel an order?

  • At this time you need to perform all cancellations within the POS.

  • In addition, you cannot provide a reason for cancellation and these do not carry through from TechPOS to Leafly.
