Marquee Ad Placement on Leafly
Marquee ads are templatized placements with customizable elements. Each template features your business name and a ‘shop menu’ button by default. Locations that have this placement will be able to customize the background color, add a custom header copy, and an image or logo all within your Biz Dashboard.
You can purchase a Marquee ad to display at the top of the Leafly Homepage, the Strains List page, or the Deals page for maximum visibility. Retailers that currently hold the Homepage Marque get additional exposure on Leafly’s iOS and Android apps.

We want your ads to look flawless across multiple device sizes and adhere to industry standards. Marquee ads include a range of elements you can customize. Follow our guidelines and pass our moderation process with flying colors!
After uploading your ad, our Accounts Team will be notified, who will then moderate and approve your ad.
💡 Some Helpful Tips on Ad Design
- Purpose is paramount: Make sure your ad conveys a clear message and purpose. Customers need to know what they're clicking and why.
- No anonymous ads: You can't generate buzz if customers don't know who you are. With each ad you create, make sure to include your brand or store name.
- Less is more: Master the art of brevity to create successful ads. Being short and to the point will guide more customers to your business.
Accessing your Ads in Leafly Biz
To access your Ads, first log into your Leafly Biz Dashboard and follow these steps:
- From the left-side panel, select the drop-down arrow next to Advertising
- Click on Marquee Ads
Upon reaching the Marquee Ads page, you will be prompted to select a marquee ad placement that corresponds to your current Leafly subscription. To get started, click on create ad.
Uploading your Ads
When you arrive at the page to create a new ad, you will be able to select the type of ad you want to upload. There are two types:
- Basic - Select a solid color for your background and add an image that aligns to the right as it scales across devices
- Advanced - Upload a custom image as the background for your ad. We’ll auto-crop it as it scales across devices
Creating a Basic Ad
First, start with the color selection. Here, you will choose the Background Color, Text Color, and Button Color of your ad. Your button color will have several options to choose from.
Second, upload your image. As a reminder, please be sure to follow the Marquee Creation Guidelines
Lastly, add your Add Copy. This is limited to 60 words. After adding your add copy, click the submit button to publish those changes for moderation review.
Creating an Advanced Ad
First, start with the color selection. Here, you will choose the Text Color and Button Color of your ad. Your button color will have several options. Since you are uploading a background, you do not have the option here to choose your Background Color.
Second, upload your image background. As a reminder, please be sure to follow the Marquee Creation Guidelines
As mentioned earlier, you will have the option to upload an image for both mobile and desktop/tablet views.
Lastly, add your Add Copy. This is limited to 60 words. After adding your add copy, click the submit button to publish those changes for moderation review.
What to expect after you upload your ad?
After uploading your ad, our Support Team will be notified, who will then moderate and approve your ad. Once the submitted ad is approved, you will receive an email.
