This article will walk you through the necessary steps to successfully activate Leafly’s Order integration with Proteus420 POS. You will complete the following high level steps (in order) →
- Review the Proteus420 Ordering FAQs
- Setup Proteus420 + Leafly Menu integration sync, if not already done
- Enable Proteus420 order integration in Leafly Biz
- Contact Proteus420 to enable the order integration
- Configure Order notifications in Leafly Biz
Please note that once you enable the Proteus420 order integration, your Leafly order dashboard will become read-only. While the order integration is active, order fulfillment will take place within Proteus420.

Leafly Setup
1. Order Settings
Follow these steps to enable the Proteus420 Order integration in Leafly.
- Open your web browser and sign into Leafly Biz → https://business.leafly.com/Admin
- From the left-side panel click on 'Settings'
- Click on 'Integrations' from the drop-down
On this page, click connect to order integrator to activate your Ordering integration:
When the Connect Your External Order Partner modal pops up, click connect:
Once doing so, you will see that the order integration is now activated:
If you need to disable the ordering integration, flip the toggle on this page to disconnect.
2. Order Notifications
Follow these steps to enable email notification alerts for Leafly Orders through the Proteus420 Order integration: Enabling Email Notifications for Leafly Pickup
Proteus420 Setup & Order Management
To configure the integration on the Proteus420 side, you will need to email your account name and your request to enable the order integration to the Proteus420 Billing Team at billing@proteus420.com.
They will respond to your request within 1 hour during regular business hours, and next business day if the request is received after hours.

Do I need to enable my POS menu sync from Proteus420 before enabling the Order integration?
- Yes, at this time, you must have the Menu integration enabled and actively syncing before enabling the Order integration.

Do I need to be a Pickup partner + Leafly customer in order to activate the Proteus420 Order settings?
- Yes, at this time, you must have both Leafly Pickup (or Delivery) and a current subscription to our advertising services activated in order to use the Proteus420 Order Integration settings.

Do customers still receive notifications when order status changes?
- Yes. Leafly will send emails or SMS updates (depending on the customer's settings) to inform them of order status changes.
Once Order Integration is enabled, will the Leafly Order Dashboard be disabled?
- Yes. Once the Order Integration is enabled the Leafly Order Dashboard will be read-only. The dashboard will update appropriately but will not be actionable.
- All order actions must be performed within your Proteus420 fulfillment dashboard.
How does customer profile matching work in Proteus420?
- Leafly orders are matched to existing customer profiles via email address or phone number.
- If there is no existing customer profile that matches an email address or phone number, a new customer profile will be created.
Will customer government ID images transfer to Proteus420 for delivery orders?
- Yes, Proteus420 will ingest government IDs for delivery orders.
Does Proteus420 support a “hold queue”?
- This is dependent on a setting within Proteus420.
- If you have enabled "inventory based on pending invoices," then the integration will deduct items from current inventory levels while an order is still active. These changes will be finalized once the order is tendered.
- If you have not enabled "inventory based on pending invoices," then items in active orders will not be deducted from inventory counts.
What are the potential pitfalls to managing orders solely in Proteus420?
- Currently, Retailers will not be able to substitute menu items for customers or be able to distinguish first time customers until the customer is in-store.
How can I cancel an order?
- You will cancel orders within Proteus420.
- Cancellations will be shared with Leafly, and the customer will be updated accordingly.
