Selecting menu items using conditions

To use deal conditions, create or edit a deal and follow your normal setup flow. After finalizing the deal details and discount information, go to Step 2 and select Use conditions.

Available condition types

  • You can set conditions based on:
  • Category: Choose from the 10 Leafly categories
  • Brand: Choose from the brands associated with your menu items
  • Strain: Choose from the strains associated with your menu items
  • Unit size: Select the unit measurement this deal applies to and the variant sizes you want included
  • Price: Choose a price range, values over, values under, or an exact value to define which menu items are included in the deal

Defining the Conditions

You can layer grouping and multiple attribute selections within inclusions and exclusions. Add more by clicking add another inclusion or add another exclusion.
  • Grouping selection: Category, Brand, Strain, Price, or Unit size
  • Attribute selection: Dynamic options based on grouping (for example, flower, edible)

Examples:

  • Grouping is Category; attribute is Flower
  • Grouping is Strain; attribute is Blue Dream
  • Grouping is Price; attribute is Equals $20

Add additional inclusions as you continue to define the deal

Define any exclusions that may apply

How conditions are evaluated:
  • Attribute selections within the same grouping are treated as OR statements
Example: category is flower or edibles
  • Attribute selections across different groupings are treated as AND statements
Example: category is flower or edibles and strain is trainwreck or blue dream
  • There is no limit to the number of attributes per rule
  • If a grouping is already used as an inclusion, it will not be available for exclusions, and vice versa
  • If only exclusions are defined (no inclusions), all menu items qualify for the deal except those specifically excluded

FAQ

  • When should I use conditions instead of selecting items manually?
Use conditions when you want your deal to automatically apply to menu items that match a pattern (for example, specific categories, brands, strains, unit sizes, or price points). Manual selection is still available and can be a better fit when your deal applies to a small, specific set of items.
  • If I change my mind, how do I go back and switch between using conditions and selecting items manually?
At the top of Step 2 there is a link that gives you the option to change modes. If you click this it will take you back to where you selected conditions or manual and any menu item selection that has been done will be wiped. If you click the go back button at the bottom of Step 2, it will take you all the way back to Step 1 and will keep any menu item selection you already have in place.
  • Where do I choose conditions in the Deal creation flow?
After you finalize the deal details and discount information, go to Step 2 and select Use conditions.
  • Why don’t I see a brand, strain, or other option that I expected?
Options are based on your current menu items. If an attribute is not associated with any of your menu items, it may not appear in the list.
  • How does unit size work with variants?
Choose the unit measurement first, then select the variant sizes you want included. Only items with matching unit and selected sizes qualify.
  • How does price matching work?
You can qualify items using a price range, values over, values under, or an exact value. Items qualify if their price matches the condition you set.
