Integration Process Overview
This article will walk you through the necessary steps to successfully activate your Menu integration with Jane (iheartjane). You will complete the following high-level steps (in order) →
- Review the FAQs prior to syncing
- Request your API credentials from Jane
- Leafly will enter your Jane API credentials into Leafly Biz to activate the integration
- Post-Integration Actions in Leafly
- Order Management in Jane
Jane/Leafly Setup
1. Requesting your Jane Credentials
- Send an email to Jane at partnersuccess@iheartjane.com to request your API credentials. You will be requesting the following identifiers:
- Client ID
- Client Secret
- Store ID
- Jane will send you a consent form to sign.
- Once signed and sent back, Jane will share the required credentials with Leafly Support.
2. Integration Setup
- Once the Jane credentials are shared with Leafly, Leafly Support will input your credentials into Leafly Biz.
- Note: If you have multiple locations, please list each one separately.
Leafly Configuration (post-POS sync)
Once Leafly has successfully synced your Jane menu with Leafly, you can configure the integration and override menu data in Leafly Biz.
These changes will persist in your Leafly menu unless you disconnect and then reconnect your POS and resync your POS menu data.

Default Item Status
On the POS Settings page, automatically set new and restocked items to either active or inactive by default. Items automatically set to an inactive status will need to manually be set to active before being visible on online menus.
- Items set to “Active” will show up on all online menus and be set to “Available for Pick-Up/Delivery” if your store participates in any of Leafly’s order ahead programs.
- Items set to “Inactive” will be hidden from all online menus and will no longer be “Available for Pick-Up/Delivery” if your store participates in any of Leafly’s order ahead programs.
Inventory Availability Rules

On the POS Settings page, you can set inventory thresholds at both the Global and Category levels. If a threshold is defined, items with inventory counts under the thresholds set will be automatically hidden from your online menus. By default, the threshold is set to 1.
Inventory Exclusion Rules

On the POS Settings page, you can permanently exclude inventory from appearing on your online menus. You can set exclusions by keywords and categories.
Category Mapping
Leafly currently supports the following categories → Accessory, Seeds, Clone, Flower, Edible, PreRoll, Concentrate, Cartridge, Topical, Other. If your assigned category in your POS and Jane do not align with a predefined Leafly category, it will be assigned a category of Other by default.
You cannot remap or override categories in Leafly. If you need to make changes to the category mapping, these should be handled in Jane.
Mappings
The table below shows the Leafly Category assigned to your Jane categories / subcategories. The Leafly category is the category that will be shown on your Leafly.com menu.

On the POS Settings page, you can select which calculation method is applied by default to the THC and CBD values coming from your POS menu. More information on the available calculation methods can be found here.
Disconnecting your POS

Pickup Order Settings
You will need to duplicate your Jane online order pickup hours in Leafly by following the steps outlined in this article: Can I set different business hours for Leafly pickup?
- Once you’ve set your pickup and preordering hours, set the dropdown under Pickup Estimate to set the pickup estimate to be shown to shoppers when an order is placed on Leafly.com.
- Once you’ve saved your pickup and preordering hours, select Save at the bottom of the page to save your configured settings.
Order Management in Jane
This section will walk you through the steps to locate your Leafly orders in your Jane Analytics
- Log into Jane Analytics by going to retail.janeanalytics.com
- Under Operations, click on Sales
- When filtering and under source you will now find the option to choose Leafly as a source option and click “Apply”
- Scroll down to the final report within Sales to find “Recent Purchase Details” to audit your orders with under the Source Column
FAQs
Do I need to be a Leafly Pickup partner + Leafly customer in order to activate the Jane integration?
- Yes, at this time it is necessary for you to be a Leafly customer with Leafly Pickup activated in order to use the Jane Integration settings.
What is the process and SLA for receiving my Jane credentials after sending the request?
- Once requested, you will receive a consent form to sign. Once you sign the form, the required credentials will be shared within 2 business days.
What is the process and SLA once Leafly receives my Jane API credentials?
- Once received, Leafly will enter your API credentials into Leafly Biz and activate the Jane integration for your store(s). The activation will be completed within 2 business days.
If I have an existing menu in Leafly, do I need to save it prior to syncing my POS menu?
- No. Leafly will automatically save a copy of the menu that you maintained before connecting to Jane. If you encounter any issues with the data that is pulled in from your Jane menu, you can quickly revert back by selecting “Disconnect and restore pre-POS connected menu data” when disconnecting and reverting the menu back to its original state. Why are some products that should appear in a specific category falling into the “Other” category?
- Leafly currently supports Accessory, Seeds, Clone, Flower, Edible, PreRoll, Concentrate, Cartridge, Topical, Other. If your assigned category in Jane does not align with a predefined Leafly category, it will be assigned a category of Other by default.
Are my subcategories from Jane available in Leafly?
- No. Leafly does not support subcategories on products today and has automatically mapped these to the appropriate Leafly category. You can remap subcategories from Jane to categories in Leafly Biz. You can find the instructions to remap under Leafly Configuration > Category Mapping in this article.
Can I manually update fields on Leafly Biz that are missing?
- With this integration, when you are synced, you can:
- manually select staff picks
- override status of items received from Jane
- set inventory thresholds at a global and category level
- override your menu items from Jane (product photography, descriptions, potency values and more)
- If you disconnect and choose to retain data from your last menu sync, any overrides made in Leafly Biz will remain unless a POS is reconnected and resynced to Leafly.
- If you disconnect and choose to restore pre-POS connected menu data, any overrides made in Leafly Biz will not remain and will be deleted.
Do products on the menu have sales tax associated?
- This is dependent on your POS. Post-tax pricing is available for BioTrack. Post-tax pricing is not available for POSs not specifically mentioned in this FAQ response.
- Clients can also use our tax feature in the Menu Manager Settings Biz to set sales and excise taxes to apply in checkout. To learn more about setting these options, please check out this Help Desk article: Setting up Tax Estimates for your Leafly Menu
When I make a change to my menu within Jane, when will this sync to the Leafly menu?
- Menu changes made in Jane will automatically sync to Leafly’s menu. Please allow up to 15 minutes for the change to appear on your Leafly menu.
Why is Strain Name not coming over?
- Jane currently does not expose Strain to Leafly as its own data point. Leafly has implemented a mapping tool to pull the Strain Name from the Product Name, if it is recognized. Based on this process, this may not be 100% accurate.
Is there a way to set a minimum threshold amount for products?
- Yes, you can set inventory thresholds at both the Global and Category levels. If a threshold is defined, items with inventory counts under the thresholds set will be automatically hidden from your online menus. By default, the threshold is set to 1 (one). You can find instructions for this setup under Leafly Configuration, Inventory Availability Rules in this article.
Do I need to enable my menu sync from Jane Technologies before I can enable the Order integration?
- By default, the Order integration will be enabled when you activate the Menu integration. If you only want Menu activated and do not want Leafly orders to flow into Jane, please use our Request Form to contact the Leafly Support Team for assistance.
Can I only connect my Jane menu to Leafly and not activate ordering?
- Yes; however, by default the Order integration will be enabled when you activate the Menu integration. If you only want Menu activated and do not want Leafly orders to flow into Jane, please use our Request Form to contact the Leafly Support Team for assistance.
Will my Cart Validation settings be inherited from Jane for Leafly ordering (e.g., max orders per hour, etc.)?
- Yes, your cart and checkout validation settings in Jane will be supported on your Leafly orders.
Will my Store and Pick-up settings be inherited from Jane for Leafly ordering (e.g., store hours, pre-order availability, pick-up hours of operation, etc.)?
- No, your store hours and pick-up hours will not be inherited for Leafly ordering and will need to be set up in Leafly to match what has been configured in Jane. Leafly will assist with the initial configuration of these settings on the Leafly side during activation of the integration. Additionally, any changes made in Jane after the integration has been activated will not carry over to Leafly and the updated settings would need to be duplicated in Leafly. What functionality on Jane will not be available on Leafly ordering (e.g., coupon codes, advanced discounts, group level discounts, etc.)?
- Jane promo codes and discounts are not currently supported on Leafly orders. You will need to manually create the discount in Leafly for application to the Leafly order. The carry through of advanced Jane discounts is planned to be supported in a future release.
Will specials that I have configured in Jane be honored in the cart for Leafly shoppers?
- Yes, any specials that you have setup in Jane will be honored and displayed to Leafly shoppers once they have navigated to the shopping cart on Leafly.com.
Once the Jane integration is enabled, will the Leafly Order dashboard be disabled?
- Yes. The Leafly Order dashboard will be read-only once the Jane integration is enabled. The Leafly Order dashboard will update order statuses appropriately, but will not be actionable.
When an order is placed on Leafly, where will the order show up for our retail team to fulfill?
- Your Leafly orders will now be passed directly into Jane’s native order fulfillment dashboard or your POS if it supports online ordering and has been connected to I Heart Jane.
Will the order show up in my Jane or Leafly analytics, or both?
- Both. You can find order detail and analysis in each platform’s Insights and Analysis content.
If the Leafly orders show up in my Jane analytics dashboard, can I distinguish between Jane and Leafly data?
- Yes, the order source will be defined as Leafly or Jane.
Will orders placed through Leafly print from the Jane printer?
- Yes, your Leafly orders will automatically print from your Jane printer(s). Leafly order receipts will have an identifying header to indicate they are a Leafly order.
Can I have a separate printer for Jane and Leafly orders?
- No, you cannot currently print Jane and Leafly orders on separate printers. Leafly order receipts will have an identifying header to indicate they are a Leafly order.
How can I cancel an order?
- All cancellations need to be performed directly within your POS or the Jane fulfillment dashboard. Your Jane and Leafly Order dashboards will update in the case of cancellations. Leafly shoppers will not be able to cancel their order once it has been submitted.
Can I provide a cancellation reason?
- Cancellation reasons do not currently carry through from the POS or Jane to the Leafly Order dashboard.
Can I deactivate the integration?
- Yes, you can disconnect this integration any time in Leafly Biz. To learn how to disconnect your integration, we advise following the instructions in this article: How do I disconnect my point of sale?
